Compare the SpongeBob and Squidward Relax Moment ornaments on price, size, and display appeal. See which 13 cm vinyl figure fits your Bikini Bottom desk decor.
Quick answer
Choose the SpongeBob SquarePants Relax Moment Ornament if you want the cheerful centerpiece and don't mind paying a little more; choose the Squidward Relax Moment Ornament if you prefer a drier, deadpan mood and want to save about USD 4. Both are 13 cm vinyl figures, so the real decision is character tone and price.
Why the price gap matters more than the size
Both ornaments share the same 13 cm height and vinyl material, so they occupy nearly identical desk or shelf space. The SpongeBob figure is listed at USD 28.39 against a USD 39.99 comparison price, while Squidward is USD 23.99 against the same comparison price. That makes Squidward the lower-cost entry into the Soap Studio Relax Moment line, but the SpongeBob figure carries the higher current price because it is the more recognizable lead character. If you are buying one, the difference is small enough that character preference should win; if you are buying both, the pair together costs less than two full-price comparison figures.
Display tone: upbeat vs deadpan
The Relax Moment series puts each character in a lounging pose, and the two personalities read very differently on a desk. SpongeBob's bright palette and open expression make him a natural focal point in a Bikini Bottom desk decor setup, while Squidward's muted colors and flat expression suit a calmer, more ironic corner. Neither figure includes interchangeable parts or accessories in the supplied catalog, so the pose and paint are fixed. That means you should pick based on the mood you want the shelf to carry, not on a hope of restyling later.
Age rating and handling
Both ornaments are marked 15 and up, which is stricter than many decorative figures. Treat them as collectibles rather than toys for younger children, and keep them out of reach if your desk is shared with kids. Vinyl is durable for display but can scuff or dull if handled roughly, so place them where they won't be knocked over daily.
Trade-offs to weigh before you buy
- Price vs character priority: Squidward saves about USD 4 at the current listing, but SpongeBob is the more recognizable lead. If you are buying only one and the character matters most, pay the small premium for SpongeBob; if budget is tight, Squidward delivers the same 13 cm vinyl format for less. Decide whether the USD 4 gap is worth the character swap before checkout.
- Single figure vs pair: Because both are 13 cm and share the same material, they display well side by side and the combined cost stays below two comparison-price figures. A pair gives you the upbeat and deadpan contrast that makes the Relax Moment line read as a set. If you have shelf depth for two, the pair is the stronger display choice.
- Fixed pose, no accessories: The supplied catalog lists no option types or interchangeable parts for either ornament. Plan your display around the pose as shown rather than expecting to swap expressions or props later. Check the product images for the exact pose before committing.
